As a fashion editor at POPSUGAR, Nikita (she/her) uncovers the latest trends and showcases a diverse range of designers that readers should know about and get excited about. Her work covers everything from celebrity style to trying out tricky new trends to see what all the hype is about. Fun fact: Nikita has moved 14 times in her life and lived in places like New York, Mumbai, and Dubai to name a few. When she's thinking not about fashion, chances are you'll probably find her listening to music, going to concerts, or taking her puppy out for a hike.
Lauren Chan (@lcchan, she/her) is a Canadian fashion personality who began her career as a plus-size model alongside women like Ashley Graham and Precious Lee at New York City's Ford Models. When she wasn’t working with clients like Vera Wang or walking in New York Fashion Week, Chan also worked as a fashion writer, having work published at institutions like Vogue, Interview, and the New York Times' T Magazine.
She later landed at Glamour (@glamourmag) as the fashion features editor, where she oversaw the fashion news team, covered the womenswear market, and personally owned the plus-size fashion beat.
Most recently, Chan started Henning (@henning), a brand of ethical luxury womenswear for women size 12 and up. Outside of work, Chan serves as an ambassador for the National Eating Disorders Association, an Advisory Board Member for the Model Alliance, and a guest lecturer at New York's top universities, including Parsons, NYU, FIT, and LIM.
Alexandra O'Neill (@ali_oneill, she/her) founded luxury womenswear label, Markarian, in 2017. Named after a particularly radiant grouping of galaxies, Markarian combines Alexandra’s love of celestial romanticism with timeless design and modern grace. Alexandra fell in love with making clothing when her grandmother, Gigi, taught her how to sew at just 10 years old. Markarian came to life from Alexandra’s notion of designing clothing that is whimsical and playful yet wearable and beautifully made. Each special, romantic, and ethereal piece is thoughtfully made-to-order in an effort to reduce waste. Designed and produced in New York City, Markarian has a strong belief in supporting the fine craftsmanship that the New York Garment Center offers.
Since its inception in 2017, Markarian has quickly become a celebrity and fashion editor favorite. Alexandra uses her unique perspective to create luxury evening wear that is both modern and striking, perfect for eye-catching occasion wear. The brand has been worn by high profile celebrities such as Kate Hudson, Beanie Feldstein, Constance Wu, Felicity Jones, Kerry Washington, Laura Dern, Priyanka Chopra, Lizzo, Thandie Newton, Andie MacDowell, and many more.
Growing up in Los Angeles as an aspiring model, Hunter McGrady's (@huntermcgrady, she/her) journey to confidence and success has not been easy, but she has never let adversity be a barrier to success.
Today, Hunter is breaking down cultural beauty barriers as the first plus size woman to appear on the cover of a bridal magazine, as the curviest model to appear in ‘Sports Illustrated’ (@sportsillustrated), their 2018 rookie of the year, and one of the first curvy models to walk NYFW runways in September 2017. In 2019, Hunter made the stand that she wouldn't attend a single fashion week show or event that wasn't inclusive, and followed up that stance by launching her own clothing line that is fully size inclusive from size XXS to 5X. The clothing line is exclusively sold on QVC (@qvc) and is called "All Worthy" - coming off a hashtag she started in 2017 to remind audiences of their worth no matter their size, shape, or background.
Hunter stands for inclusivity in everything she does and is a dedicated advocate for body positivity and mental health, working closely with the JED foundation (@jedfoundation) for suicide prevention, and is on the Alliance for Eating Disorders Collaborative. Recently married, she has worked with brands such as The Knot, Brides and Glamour to dispel the rumors that women should change themselves for their wedding day.
