Alexandra Givan is the Director of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion at Sony Music Group. In this newly formed role, Alexandra supports the expansion and execution of equity, and inclusion initiatives, policies, and strategy across Sony Music Group’s global recorded music, publishing, and corporate divisions. Prior to joining Sony Music Group, Alexandra was a Senior Manager of Corporate Communications at Comcast Corporation. During her tenure, she managed and implemented strategic programming to elevate Comcast NBCUniversal’s brand reputation among key national audiences and supported the company’s government affairs activities on federal, regulatory, and legislative issues. Alexandra also played an integral role in the development and execution of Comcast NBCUniversal’s communications strategy related to the company’s $100 million commitment to advance social justice and equality and evolving diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts. In 2020, Alexandra played a key role in launching the University of Maryland’s Student Success Service Leadership Scholarship, which provides financial support to students who have demonstrated a commitment to the Black community through their leadership and involvement. Alexandra recently served on the Advisory Board of ADCOLOR, the premiere organization celebrating and championing diversity and inclusion in the creative and technology industries and is a proud alumna of the ADCOLOR FUTURES program. She is also an active alumna of the T. Howard Foundation for Diversity in Media, a mission-driven organization dedicated to increasing representation in the media and entertainment industry. Alexandra holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the University of Maryland, College Park and a certificate in Diversity & Inclusion from Cornell University. A native of New York, Alexandra is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and loves international travel, experiencing new cuisines, and her growing plant family.
